This section brings together PlayMatters research and learning products that document what works in embedding Learning through Play across diverse, low-resource education systems. Drawing on evidence from implementation, evaluation, and system collaboration, these publications inform Learning through Play understanding, practice, and scale.
PlayMatters is a four-year education programme that works with the Ministry of General Education and Instruction, teachers, schools and communities to improve children's learning, wellbeing and holistic development through Learning through Play. Building on more than five years of implementation and evidence from Uganda, Ethiopia and Tanzania, the project strengthens teacher professional development, supports safe and inclusive learning environments, engages communities, and helps integrate Learning through Play into South Sudan's education system. Through strong partnerships, PlayMatters aims to ensure that more children have access to quality, engaging and meaningful learning experiences that prepare them to thrive in school and beyond.
