The PlayMatters Evidence Summit and Project Closure Ceremony, organized by the PlayMatters Consortium, will be held on October 30th, 2025. This year’s theme, “Telling the PlayMatters success story through evidence: showcasing how Learning through Play improves teaching and learning in host and conflict-affected areas,” aims to continue to deepen the understanding and implementation of Learning through Play (LtP) in classrooms. This one-day summit will serve as a platform to share evidence and reflect on the project’s achievements.

Key objectives include:

• Showcase Achievements and Evidence: Highlight the five-year journey of PlayMatters 2.0 through the presentation of endline findings, demonstrating the impact of Learning through Play (LtP) on teaching and learning in host and conflict-affected contexts.
• Foster Reflection and Learning: Provide a platform for government partners, educators, and consortium members to reflect on key successes, lessons, and insights that have shaped the integration and scaling of LtP across Ethiopia, Uganda, and Tanzania.
• Strengthen Collaboration and Sustainability: Reinforce partnerships and shared commitments toward sustaining and institutionalizing Learning through Play within national education systems beyond the life of the PlayMatters project.

This event will bring together high-level decision-makers and experts from government institutions, humanitarian agencies, and organizations at local, national, and regional levels from Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda, and South Sudan. It aims to share LtP experiences, harness opportunities for standardized LtP integration, and strengthen collaborative efforts for sustainable and durable solutions.
