PlayMatters will officially launch its next phase through a virtual event bringing together representatives from Ministries of Education, consortium partners, the LEGO Foundation, education leaders and practitioners from across the region. The launch will mark an important milestone in the evolution of the initiative, highlighting key achievements from previous phases while introducing PlayMatters 3.0 and its vision for strengthening learning, wellbeing and holistic development for children affected by crisis and displacement. Participants will hear reflections from education leaders, explore emerging evidence on Learning Through Play, and learn how the initiative is working with national systems to support sustainable and scalable change.

The event will also showcase PlayMatters' growing digital ecosystem, including the enhanced Learning Through Play Library, evidence and research resources, and new opportunities for knowledge sharing across countries. Building on six years of implementation, partnership and evidence generation, PlayMatters 3.0 will focus on advancing national ownership, institutionalization and scale through closer collaboration with education systems and local actors. The virtual launch provides an opportunity for partners and stakeholders to reflect on the journey so far and collectively look ahead to the next chapter of Learning Through Play across East Africa and beyond.
