Kiryandongo District officially launched PlayMatters 3 at Kiryandongo District Headquarters on 30 September 2026. The launch was organized by War Child Alliance & YSAT (Youth Social Advocacy Team) who will be leading the PlayMatters 3.0 implementation brought together the district leadership and settlement teams strengthening collaboration and reaffirm a shared commitment to improving learning outcomes and child wellbeing through the learning through play methodology.
The launch provided an opportunity for the system actors to meet YSAT (Youth Social Advocacy Team), the National Partner who will be leading the PlayMatters 3.0 implementation as well as connect, engage, and reflect on the role of play in supporting children’s learning outcomes, psychosocial wellbeing and teacher’s career development. The participation of both the district and settlement teams underscored the importance of strong coordination, ownership, and collective action in ensuring the effective implementation and sustainability of PlayMatters 3.0.

In her opening remarks, The Assistant Resident District Commissioner (Assistant RDC) welcomed the project and emphasized the importance of strong collaboration between the district leadership, settlement teams, implementing partners, schools, and other stakeholders in ensuring effective implementation. Her remarks were an important step in strengthening ownership and coordination of PlayMatters 3.0, with a shared focus on using play-based approaches to support children’s learning, development, and wellbeing. The launch also provided a platform for stakeholders to reaffirm their commitment to working together to ensure that the project is effectively implemented within the district and settlement communities.
